Virginia Pate Latimer, 97, went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2017. Funeral services will be held at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Latimer was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Lura Wheeler Pate and Morgan Len Pate. She retired from Robins AFB in 1980, was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church; charter...

Mrs. Latimer was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Lura Wheeler Pate and Morgan Len Pate. She retired from Robins AFB in 1980, was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church; charter member of the Heart of Georgia Quilt Guild; and a member of the 9-Patch Quilting Friends.

Mrs. Latimer was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Jr., of 66 years; her parents and her brother, Morgan Len Pate Jr.

Mrs. Latimer is survived by sons, Joel L. Latimer III, (Terri), Grayson, Georgia and Morgan "Len" Latimer, (Jean), Van Nuys, California; grandchildren Tracy Wheeler (Doug), Macon, Georgia; Susan Gargala (Chris), Hoover, Alabama, Kim Beresford (Chris), Woodland Hills, California, and Chris Latimer, Sherman Oaks, California, seven great grandchildren, one niece, and two nephews.
