Faye Lavender Newton, 83, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 6, 2017. A Celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017 in the Macon Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to service time at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital, 888 Pine Street, Macon GA 31201.

Faye was born in Macon, Georgia to the late James Henry and Kathleen Fordham Lavender. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. "Billy" Newton M.D., and her brother, Ralph Lavender. Faye was a medical transcriptionist with Doctors Brown, Shirley, Neal, May and Rodenberry at OBGYN & Associates. She was a member of Mabel White Baptist Church, Children's Choir Director, Adult Choir member and the WMU. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt.

She is survived by her beloved children; Ross (Barbara) Newton of Macon, Mark (Joni) Newton, M.D. of Augusta, Todd Newton of Macon, Kaye Lavender Newton of Franklin, TN, grandchildren, Matthew (Lindsey) Newton, Tyler Newton, James Newton, Kathleen Newton, Bradley (Danielle) Newton, David Newton, Christy Newton, Daniel Newton, Will Newton, Jake Newton, Elisa Whitlock, Michael (Annie) Whitlock, Lauren Whitlock and Meileah Whitlock, great granddaughter, Julia Grace Newton, sister-in-law, Lila Lavender and several nieces and nephews.
