Obituary


Earl Russell Brown, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 11, 2017. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Vineville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. William Richard Kramer officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Vineville Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to donor's favorite charity.

Mr. Brown was born in Dudley, GA to the late Venie and Winnie Darsey Brown. He was preceded in death by his sisters; Nell Rutland and Betty Jean Patterson. Earl served his country in the United States Army. He was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Director for twenty eight years. He was a member of Vineville Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Earl was retired from C&S Bank and he served as President of Ocmulgee Little League, Optimist Club and was Man of the Year. He was an avid fisherman. He was a good and faithful servant, devoted Christian husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred Brown; daughters and sons-in-law; Kay and Michael Allen, Jenny and Ronnie Patterson; son and daughter-in-law; Rusty and Ellen Brown; grandchildren; Bethany (Matt) Spickard, Heather Brown, Hillary (BJ) Neff, Hannah Brown, Katie Beth (Brandon) Pritchett, Russ (Kendal) Patterson and Clayton Patterson; great grandchildren; Hayden and Knox Spickard and Sam Neff; brothers; Harold (Pat) Brown, James (Juanita) Brown, Ed (Louise) Brown and Robert (Margaret) Brown, sister; Georgia Mae Horton, Brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Rebecca (Cecil) Cannon, Carol Evans, Geraldine Chapman, Gloria Williams, Mattie (Billy Ray) Sanders, Wendell (Margie) Evans, Thomas (Bonnie) Evans, Mallory (Linda) Evans, Linda Carroll, Loretta (Joe) O'Neill and many nieces and nephews.
