Charles Bailey "Bo" Phillips, Sr., 72, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11:00am at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer with Dr. James Braswell officiating. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends Wednesday night from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Charles Bailey "Bo" Phillips, Sr., 72, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017. Bo was born in Macon, Georgia to the late William Henry Phillips and Sarah Bailey Phillips and was preceded in death by nine siblings. He was retired from the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department and served in the United States Marine Corp. Bo was an active member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and the Moose Lodge of Macon. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sherry Smith Phillips; children, Dr. Charles Bailey Phillips, Jr. (Debbie) and Shannon Strong (Chris); grandchildren, Heather Morris (Ben), Conner and Garrett Strong; great grandchildren, Sam, Harper and Alex Morris; siblings, Henry Phillips, May Mullis, Ruby Tippins and Babe Pennington (Bubba); numerous nieces and nephews.
